HOW OUR PROGRAM WORKS
The Gathering Place is a social model day service dedicated exclusively to early-mid memory loss. We are currently open four days a week, Monday, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays 9:30-3:30, with lunch provided.
Each day in our vibrant program we incorporate the six key elements of wellness, which are: physical, cognitive, social, emotional, spiritual, and community.
Socialization is our specialty! We start and end our day with a casual social time, sharing lots of laughs and stories. Socializing is a priority in all our activities. Staying engaged keeps your mind active.
We believe in our participants. The Gathering Place is involved in countless service projects, throughout the year, and actively participate in the community.
Each afternoon at The Gathering Place begins with a fun and effective exercise class, focusing on strength and balance. We incorporate many different types of exercise, some examples are:
- Thera band exercises
- Lite weights
- Grip strength
- and even Yoga
Keeping your brain active is key to maintain your abilities. We get our brain in gear daily at The Gathering Place:
- Word Games
- Art as a form of expression and communication
- Drama Club
- Reading Groups
Emotional & Spiritual
We value and respect each one of our participants, listening, validating, and encouraging everyone. The Gathering Place is a safe and supportive environments. We do a non-denominational prayer and devotion each day.
The Gathering Place is a social model program exclusive to adults with memory loss; the program is designed to provide the caregiver the respite they need, while their loved one stays fully engaged in our vibrant social program.
