VOLUNTEERS
Volunteers are the key to our success at The Gathering Place! Our volunteers come with a passion and a heart to serve others and enjoy all the aspects of our Social Day Program for Adults with memory loss as they assist others. How many times have you volunteered with the idea that “I’m going to make a difference at this organization” and have come home and said “wow” I have never done anything that has impacted me this way and made such a difference in so many peoples live? Volunteering at TGP does just that.
We are not your typical day program. This is a vibrant, active, social model day program where no medical care is given. No TV is watched. Where you get to connect with others and be part of our ripple effect of giving respite to so many people connected to our participants. You can help out in the areas that you feel comfortable in, whether it’s socializing, game or card playing, bell choir, sing a longs, service projects, dancing, art classes, crafts, wood working, concrete pouring, bowling – even with potatoes, going to the driving range, Road America, fishing, activities with our Childcare and Preschool or the YMCA kids, our activities are limitless. This doesn’t even touch our outings. We also offer quarterly training for our volunteers with the Alzheimer’s Association and other Professionals so that you can do the best job possible.
You can view our current volunteer opportunities here.
To volunteer at The Gathering Place, you will need to set up an appointment for a tour and get an application at that time.
